A tenacious yet gentle presence comes from a voice not from this time, the unique timber of London born Jazz/Pop, Soul, and RnB artists Babs Savage established her presence singing in the nightclubs back in the days that ID was just a magazine, and not a pass to get you into a club. At the young age of 14, Babs was performing with her nine piece band Savajazz; which opened for George Michael’s band Wham at the Camden palace. (Babs was famously known for telling George Michael that his boating shoes would never take off; however, they became the best seller that season on the London Club scene after George wore them for their first video.) at Koko’s, previously known as The Music Machine and Camden Palace.
Enter stage left, infamous Songwriter, and Producer of many hit songs and the musical Oliver, Lionel Bart who was the first to introduce Babs to the concept of the recording studio; where Babs session sang and recorded for various artist within the Music Industry. Later, Babs pursued a career in drama, while she studied at Central School. Whilst engaged in her theatrical studies, Babs also wrote and directed plays for fellow students, where she genuinely relished the creative process.
